Love it, or hate it? It's been slowly growing on me. Dip Dyed hair. It started off with casual ombre hair but now it's all gone wild- rainbow style. Whilst scrolling through pinterest recently I've become surrounded by pastel tipped ends...it's made me curious to try it out. Sadly, with having stupidly dark brown hair and school rules to argue with I'm still trying to find the day to finally try it out. Like the photo above, I llllllllove the teal-y colour- especially on brown hair but bleaching my hair doesn't sound too good. I'm rubbish dying my hair normally as it is. I think I'm definitely going to try and find some kind of dye before Leeds in the summer. Do you guys have any dye to reccomend? and a non-bleaching way of doing it? Help help help!

I always find that lighter coloured hair can pull off a wider range of colours than us brunettes (dang it) but I do love the teal colours like you. Lovely inspiration :)

Have you seen any of the soft chalk tutorials? They look really good and washes out! xox
ReplyDeleteI think I'm gonna wait until summer comes along with holiday, I think I'll give it a try. Just haven't found the right dip dye colour yet...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great pictures anyway (don't forget to share your look if you dare do it before me...lol)

I have brown hair and to dip dye my hair before i had to bleach the ends because thats the only way i knew of doing it. If you do try it out use directions by la riche semi-permanent hair dyes as they come in a ton of amazing bright colours, last for quite a while and may show over dark brown hair.

you could try getting a colour bug? They only have pink, purple and orange but they're semi permanent, cost about a tenner, don't damage your hair and they work in dark hair!
ReplyDeleteI've managed to grow my hair quite longish now, so I think I'm going to dip dye mine, and if I don't like it, I'll just get it chopped off! :) x

other then islay said, to get the colour bug, then u do unfortantly have to bleach it =[
ReplyDeleteto get it light enough to tone it down, even like the already pastel colours that claim to add the colour to your hair have some kind of bleach in them, so it bleaches and deposits aswell,
i love the dip dye effect i really really want it in my hair, but i think it only looks good in long hair and mines not quite there yet =[

I love ombre hair, I've been wanting to do it for ages but I haven't plucked up the courage yet because I haven't done anything drastic to my hair for about six years now!

ReplyDeleteurgh i'd forgotten how annoying school rules about hair and make-up are! you should definitely dip dye your hair this summer. i love the teal look! x
ReplyDeleteI lovee dip dyed hair, I'm waiting 'til I graduate this year to do it cause my school has the same rules :/ I did a purpley streak though, and I used splat....worked pretty well :)
ReplyDeleteI had bright red hair with black tips for quite a while but it costs a bit to keep it looking nice
ReplyDeleteI ombre'd my hair so I could dip dye it in the summer :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was 16 for my school prom I had the ends of my hair bleached and dyed pink. Well ahead of the ombre/dip dye trend as that was a pretty scary 5 years ago!!

I have dark brown hair and wanted a baby pink dip dye this year but that fuckin pink doesn't want to dye my hair. it's still kinda orange cuz of the bleach. no sign of pink.

I love this look too! I really want to ombre my hair but my hair's really dark too... and I'm a wimp haha x
ReplyDeleteI love that colour too. I was thinking of trying Fudge Paintbox as it lasts up to 30 washes so it isn't too drastic! Get them here - http://www.hairtrade.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=paintbox&x=0&y=0 but they do a white that you can mix with the bright colours to get the shade you want!
ReplyDeletelove the colours!
