FAVOURITE SHOWS FROM LFW AW13

Yep, so you've been going on twitter these past couple of days and your whole timeline has been covered with #lfw #lfw and now you're absolutely sick to death of hearing about it, so, what I've decided to do, is do a blog post on it! YAY!. It's nothing heavy duty, but I've watched a couple of the shows from the week and I thought I'd show you some of my favourite outfits- not necessarily ones I'd like to wear, but more generally. Oh to have been at Somerset House last weekend.  (PS: All the photos are from the London Fashion Week website)

Topshop Unique
It's all gone very grunge-y and oversized, perfect. PVC skirts, sequins, cropped mohair jumper- it definitely creates a unique style. The dusty pink coat in the middle needs to come and live in my wardrobe (or just anything in the colour- for that matter). I shall be binning all clothes that aren't that colour this autumn winter (I joke). What I love is all the different textures, I noticed loads of faux fur, silky blouses, knits, sequins- you name it, it's in there. I also watched this 10 times earlier today. There's no denying it, Cara Delevingne is the coolest person in the world.

House of Holland
Henry Holland confirmed it for me that I NEED TO MAKE MYSELF A BALLERINA/MIDI/PROM SKIRT REALLY QUICKLY. In true House of Holland style, the show was full of funky prints, oversized knits and clusters of jewels. With 70s/80s influences there were some really gorgeous plum and navy shades- not forgetting a seriously bright, neon pink, orange and green. Zomg

 Louise Gray
It goes from one extreme to the other. You think you've seen enough from all the bright colours at the House of Holland show, and suddenly you're seeing plastic bags pinned to peoples heads. WHATEVER NEXT?! TOILET ROLL BROACH?! Oh, erm, wait, yes, that's been done already too. I absolutely love all of her work, because, let's be honest, it's absolutely bonkers. Floral patterns influenced by the 70s, mucho metallics, and oversized necklaces, this definitely isn't the kind of thing you'll catch me wearing while I'm standing at the bus stop. There's something kind of 'My Parents Are Aliens'-esque about it, but even then, I think this takes wacky to a whole new level.

 Orla Kiely
Never before have typewriters looked so trendy. Inspired by the 1950s, it was full of oh-so-sophisticated tailored suits, super girly dainty dresses and t-bar patent shoes (yay!). I loved the contrast between the more subtle camel/beige and navy shades against the shocking pink and yellows, not at the same time- of course! Pointed collars and buttoned up cardigans is what I need to get my hands on. I'm an Orla Kiely fan girl. Now all I need to do is master that bee-hive...........

Did you have a favourite show from LFW? Or does your head feel totally done in by this fashion overload that you need to spend the remainder of the week in your jimjams? (I don't blame you). I also wanted to mention the Burberry Prorsum show because I can honestly say, it was the most beautiful thing I've ever watched. I'm not really a Burberry kinda gal as it all seems a bit to posh for me but the whole show was really atmospheric and kinda magical (if that's the right word choice?). If you haven't seen it yet, it's definitely worth having a watch. It's when Tom Odell appeared from behind this massive moving wall that I was like oooooooooooh myyyyyyyyy gooooooddddddd and so I decided to watch the show a further 5 times.

now playing: the music from the Burberry Show (just pop it on in the background)

  1. I am definitely guilty of filling peoples Twitter timelines with #LFW tweets. I'm sure I was getting pretty annoying but I absolutely loved it. Could watch Louise Gray show over and over, as well as the Cara-Jourdan Harlem Shake video but I had a lot of love for the Orla Kiely show. Was expecting a lot more colour from Meadham Kirchhoff following the SS show but I still loved the futuristic Edwardian dressed and patent sailor suits. Sad now its ended for another season. I have done a few LFW posts if you fancy taking a gander :) www.thesestylishstreets.co.uk

  10. Undeniably believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason seemed to be
on the internet the easiest thing to be aware of.
I say to you, I definitely get irked while people consider worries
that they plainly don't know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
