I ♥ BALLERINA SKIRTS

1/2/3/4

Literally, it's been a good month since I first saw this skirt floating around pinterest, and it's been a good month of me trying to find the actual name for the style. You name it, I've googled it: puffy skirt, petticoat skirt, net skirt, long fluffy cinderella skirt, BALLERINA SKIRT. I had a total screaming fit (not really) when I found out the name for it so I could then find more pictures to then do this post. Basically, IT'S SO PRETTY. Yes, of course, it's basically a complete replica of the one I used to wear when I pretended to be a princess in playgroup, but that is simply not the point. They are elegant, graceful and oh so sophisticated. I can now picture myself in a ballerina skirt skipping through a field picking up daisies standing at the bus stop in the rain. They look beautiful with a big scruffy over-sized jumper tucked in or tied in a knot to the side or with a more basic vest-y top or crop top. What do you think of them? Perhaps too OTT? I found this tutorial on how to make one yourself, but let's face it, if I try and make one it would never turn out the same. So, I'm just going to sit her and carry on imagining one in my head...... *sigh* definitely need to find myself some glass slippers too...

I'm off to the student lock in at Cow Vintage tonight, I'm really looking forward to it (and buying absolutely looooadddsssss, aussi)

now playing: my friend, Frankie makes lovely music and said to me a couple of days ago that he has been reading my blog, so I thought I should give him a mention- you should definitely give it all a listen....it's all pretty and acousticy (he has a facebook page too!)

  1. There is something very 'Carrier Bradshaw' about these skirts. I love them! Don't think I could pull it off though somehow.

  2. I love this, can just imagine you walking through the goths in market square wearing it haha. Have fun at COW tonight, how pretty is the new shop!! I couldn't find anything I liked when I went in (I'm sure you will though, I have the patience of a spoiled brat so couldn't be bothered to bargain hunt - though I'm not a spoiled brat, obvs), but the place overall is a beaut x
